Summary

Netflix has confirmed a third season of the crime drama "The Gentlemen," with creator Guy Ritchie returning as director and co-writer, while production is set to begin soon.

"The Gentlemen" has been officially greenlit for a third season, Variety reports. The eight-episode series, created by Guy Ritchie and starring Theo James and Kaya Scodelario, is entering pre-production, though scripts and additional casting have not yet been finalized. Ritchie, who also serves as executive producer, said, "The ambition of ‘The Gentlemen’ has accelerated, the world has expanded and the consequences carry weight. A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further." Ritchie will direct the new season and co-write it with Matthew Read. Production is expected to start imminently. The announcement follows Netflix's recent renewals of several U.K. series, including "Black Mirror" Season 8 and "Legends" Season 2. In related news, Netflix released the first full-length trailer for Season 2 of "The Gentlemen," scheduled to premiere on September 3. Season 2 continues the story of Eddie Horniman (James) and Susie Glass (Scodelario) as they expand their criminal enterprise to Italy, introducing new characters such as a aristocratic figure played by Hugh Bonneville. Returning cast members include Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Daniel Ings, Jasmine Blackborow, Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito, Michael Vu, Ruby Sear and Pearce Quigley, with newcomers like Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Amra Mallassi, Tyler Conti, Chris Eubank Jr. and Maya Jama. The series is produced by Moonage Pictures for Netflix and Miramax TV, with executive producers including Ritchie, Matthew Read, Ivan Atkinson, Will Gould, Simon Crawford, Collins, Frith Tiplady, Jonathan Glickman and Marc Helwig.
