Prosecutors Present Rebuttal Psychiatrist in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial
During the 19th day of the trial, prosecutors called psychiatrist Dr. Avram Mack to challenge the defense’s mental-health expert, while the case continues to focus on whether postpartum psychosis contributed to the killings.
Testimony resumed Monday in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, with prosecutors calling psychiatrist Dr. Avram Mack as a rebuttal witness. Dr. Mack contested several conclusions offered by the defense’s forensic psychiatrist, Dr. Phillip Resnick, regarding Clancy’s mental state at the time of the killings.
The prosecution maintains that Clancy strangled her three children—Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months—on Jan. 24, 2023, before jumping from a second-story window and sustaining paralysis from the waist down. The defense argues that bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis impaired her responsibility for the deaths.
The defense completed its case on Friday after presenting Dr. Resnick, and the prosecution plans to call two additional rebuttal witnesses before closing arguments, which are expected early in the week.
