Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Expected to Spend Limited Time in the UK This Autumn
The Sussexes are slated to travel to Britain in the coming weeks, with sources indicating their stay may be limited to several months rather than a permanent relocation.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are scheduled to arrive in the United Kingdom within the next week, where their children will be enrolled in a local school. A source close to the duke told the London Sunday Times the couple’s visit could last “six months, it could be a year, it could be more,” while a spokesperson for the pair told The New York Times they plan to spend “an extended period in the UK this autumn.”
The exact duration of the stay remains uncertain, with speculation that the family may later consider relocating to other Commonwealth countries such as Canada or Australia. The couple’s movements follow recent legal challenges and ongoing discussions about the duke’s security arrangements.
Harry’s friend, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the prince is interested in spending time in the Cotswolds, near his father’s Highgrove estate, and may aim to be in Britain for at least a month around the 2027 Invictus Games. The friend added that Meghan’s business interests, including her As Ever brand, are currently based in the United States, making a long-term UK residence less practical.
Both the Sunday Times and The New York Times have reported the couple’s plans without confirming a permanent move, and no official statement has been released regarding future residency decisions.
