Google Unveils Pixel 10 Series, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Buds 2a at Annual Event

At its annual 'Made by Google' event on August 20, 2025, Google unveiled a range of new devices, including the Pixel 10 series smartphones, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Buds 2a.

The Pixel 10 series comprises four models: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. All models are powered by Google's new Tensor G5 chipset, which the company claims is 60% more powerful than its predecessor. The Pixel 10 features a 6.3-inch Actua display, 12GB of RAM, and a new 5x telephoto camera alongside 50MP wide and 48MP ultrawide lenses. The Pixel 10 Pro offers a 6.3-inch Super Actua display with peak brightness of 3,300 nits, 16GB of RAM, and a 5x telephoto lens supporting 100x Pro Res Zoom. The Pixel 10 Pro XL shares similar specifications with the Pro model but includes a larger 6.8-inch display. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold introduces a 6.4-inch Actua outer display and an 8-inch Super Actua inner display, featuring a new gearless, high-strength hinge designed for durability. Notably, it is the first foldable phone to feature an IP68 rating, providing complete protection against dust and water. Preorders for the Pixel 10 series began on August 20, with open sales starting on August 28. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be available from October 9.

Google also introduced new AI features, including Magic Cue, which proactively suggests actions or provides information based on the context of the user's phone usage. For instance, during a call to an airline, Magic Cue can instantly display flight details. Another feature, Pixelsnap, allows users to attach Qi2-compatible wireless chargers, stands, and grips to the back of their devices.

The Pixel Buds 2a, priced at $129, are Google's first budget earbuds to feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with Silent Seal 1.5 technology. They offer up to 7 hours of playback with ANC on and 20 hours with the charging case. Powered by Google's Tensor A1 chipset, the buds support Gemini AI functions for capabilities like message summarization and schedule checks. Preorders are open, with availability starting on October 9.

The Pixel Watch 4 introduces design updates and additional safety features. It features an Actua 360 domed display made of Corning Gorilla Glass, with the touchscreen being 10% larger and 50% brighter than its predecessor, reaching up to 3,000 nits. Battery life has improved, offering up to 40 hours on a single charge for the 45mm model and 30 hours for the 41mm version. The Pixel Watch 4 is also designed with serviceability in mind, allowing users to replace the display and battery. Safety features include Loss of Pulse, Fall and Crash Detection, and an SOS satellite communication function for contacting emergency services without cellular or Wi-Fi connections. Preorders began on August 20, with the wearable set to hit store shelves on October 9.
