Summary

A review of Natalie Harp’s deleted X account uncovered more than 150 posts on Jan. 6, 2021, in which she fervently praised Donald Trump, spread baseless election-fraud claims, and emboldened the insurrectionist mob.

A CNN analysis of the now-suspended X account of Natalie Harp, a former One America News Network propagandist who later became a White House aide, found she posted more than 150 incendiary messages on Jan. 6, 2021. The tweets urged Republicans to “FIGHT FOR TRUMP,” repeated the thoroughly debunked claim that the election was stolen, and amplified misinformation from Trump loyalists such as Rudy Giuliani.

Harp glorified the crowd assembling for Trump’s speech as “patriots,” and brazenly challenged lawmakers to show “a fraction of the courage & passion” of the demonstrators—many of whom would soon violently storm the Capitol. She repeatedly declared “today D.C. is TRUMP COUNTRY,” stoking the flames of sedition. After the Capitol was breached, Harp cynically spread disinformation, claiming the rioters were not Trump supporters and circulating unsubstantiated reports blaming Antifa, a common right-wing scapegoat. She also relayed Trump’s belated calls for the mob to disperse, after the violence had already erupted.

In the aftermath of the attack, Harp continued to glorify Republican lawmakers complicit in undermining democracy, praising Rep. Jody Hice, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Sen. Josh Hawley and others as “patriots” for defending Trump’s baseless claims. The next day, after Trump finally acknowledged the incoming administration, Harp posted his message that “our incredible journey is only just beginning,” doubling down on her unwavering loyalty to a disgraced president.

The review noted that Harp’s pro-Trump propaganda on social media began before the 2020 election, with posts in December 2020 calling the legitimate result a “coup” and earlier messages invoking biblical verses to sanctify Trump’s anti-democratic crusade. Neither Harp nor the White House responded to requests for comment.

"She has proven to be a totally loyal sycophantic adviser and staffer for him," said David B. Cohen, a political-science professor at the University of Akron.
