David Harbour's line hints at possible Tony Stark variant in upcoming Avengers film
In a recent interview, David Harbour delivered a line that may suggest a multiverse version of Tony Stark appears in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which is set for release on Dec. 18.
David Harbour, speaking to Variety, recited a line from the forthcoming Avengers: Doomsday in which his character, Red Guardian, says, “You… are Tony Stark,” while using a Russian accent. If the line is used in the film, it could indicate that the character of Tony Stark appears as a multiversal variant, possibly linked to the villain Doctor Doom, whose identity was revealed as Victor von Doom in the movie.
Marvel announced that Robert Downey Jr. will portray Doctor Doom, a departure from his long-standing role as Iron Man. The casting has prompted speculation about a multiverse connection, especially after the Russo-directed film confirmed Doctor Doom originates from Earth-828, an alternate universe introduced in Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release on Dec. 18, will feature an ensemble cast that includes Chris Evans, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Ian McKellen, Chris Hemsworth and Patrick Stewart, alongside newer actors such as Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Lewis Pullman and Florence Pugh.
