Defense Testimony Continues in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial

Summary

Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Phillip Resnick testified remotely on Friday as the defense nears the end of its case in the trial of Lindsay Clancy, accused of killing her three children.

Testimony resumed on Friday in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, with the defense expected to finish its case soon and closing arguments slated for early next week. The first witness of the day, forensic psychiatrist Dr. Phillip Resnick, testified via a remote video link after a brief interruption caused by technical issues with the Zoom feed.

Prosecutors maintain that Clancy strangled her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — on Jan. 24, 2023, in their Duxbury, Massachusetts home after sending her then-husband Patrick out on errands. They allege she then jumped from a second-story window, resulting in paralysis from the waist down.

The defense argues that Clancy was experiencing bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis at the time of the incident and should not be held criminally responsible.
