UK Prime Minister says Sussex security arrangements are private matter
Prime Minister Andy Burnham stated that security for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be handled privately as they prepare to move back to the United Kingdom with their children.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham said the security arrangements for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on their upcoming return to the United Kingdom are a private matter and expressed good wishes for their move.
The couple plans to relocate from the United States later this month to a private residence outside London, where their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, will begin attending a British school in September.
Harry previously lost a legal challenge over the level of protection he and his family receive in the UK, and it remains unclear who will fund any future security provisions. Royal commentator Robert Hardman noted that some earlier security issues appear to have been resolved, but details have not been disclosed.
The move follows the Sussexes' last visit to the UK in July, during which they met King Charles at his private home in Gloucestershire, a gathering described by the palace as a private family occasion.
