Taylor Sheridan says planned Yellowstone spin-off 6666 will not be produced

Summary

Creator Taylor Sheridan confirmed that the announced Yellowstone spin-off centered on the Four Sixes Ranch has been cancelled, citing concerns about fictionalising a real, active ranch.

Creator Taylor Sheridan told listeners of the Rodeo Time podcast that the planned Yellowstone spin-off titled 6666 will not be made. He said he never intended to dramatise the Four Sixes Ranch, an operational Texas ranch that appeared in seasons four and five of the original series. > "There’s never going to be a spin-off about the Four Sixes Ranch," Sheridan said. He added that he did not want to invent a drama about a working ranch where real families live and work, and that he feels a responsibility to protect its reputation. Paramount had announced in 2021 that it was developing the series, which would have been set during the era when Comanches ruled West Texas, two centuries before Yellowstone’s storyline. The cancellation leaves the broader Yellowstone franchise intact; the original series concluded in 2024 after five seasons, and other spin-offs such as Dutton Ranch and Marshals continue to air, with Dutton Ranch renewed for a second series and Marshals slated for a new season in October.
