Forensic Pathologist Testifies in Lindsay Clancy Trial as Jury Is Excused

Summary

A forensic pathologist completed his testimony in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, and a TikTok influencer was questioned without jurors present before the judge barred her from testifying. The jury was later dismissed for an unforeseen reason.

A forensic pathologist who treated Lindsay Clancy after she allegedly killed her three children finished his testimony on Wednesday following a brief delay to start the day. The court also questioned TikTok personality Emily Thorndike in a voir dire session held without jurors, after which the judge ruled the defense could not call her as a witness.

After a lunch recess, the presiding judge excused the jury citing an "unforeseen circumstance." Prosecutors maintain that Clancy strangled her children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — on Jan. 24, 2023, in their Duxbury, Massachusetts home after sending her then-husband Patrick out on errands. They say she then jumped from a second-story window, resulting in paralysis from the waist down. The defense argues that Clancy was experiencing bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis, and therefore should not be held criminally responsible.
