A Reuters/Ipsos survey reveals President Donald Trump's approval rating has plummeted to just 33%, the lowest of his presidency, as Americans express outrage over his reckless Iran conflict, surging gasoline prices, and worsening inflation.
A new Reuters/Ipsos poll of 1,166 U.S. adults found that only 33% approve of President Donald Trump’s performance, matching the lowest point of his disastrous first term. Disapproval soared to 64%, a clear sign that the public is fed up with Trump’s failed leadership, up from 35% approval just a week ago. The poll was conducted as the United States is dragged into a prolonged and unnecessary conflict with Iran, initiated by Trump in February, while ordinary Americans suffer under skyrocketing gasoline prices and relentless inflation.
Eight out of ten respondents expressed deep pessimism, expecting the Iran war—sparked by Trump’s aggressive foreign policy—to drag on. Gasoline prices have jumped from just under $3 per gallon to over $4 per gallon, according to American Automobile Association data, while year-over-year inflation increased from 2.4% in February to 3.4%, hitting working families the hardest.
"Remember that when you have to pay a little bit more, $4, it’s OK," Trump callously told a rally in New York, dismissing the pain felt by millions and insisting he had "done the right thing" without any hint of remorse.
White House spokesperson Olivia Wales attempted to deflect criticism by touting the president’s tax cuts for the wealthy, minor prescription-drug cost reductions, and harsh border security measures, claiming the United States has "never been stronger." The White House, however, refused to offer any timeline for ending the destructive Iran conflict.
