Summary

A Reuters/Ipsos poll reports President Donald Trump's approval at 33%, a figure amplified by media negativity amid the Iran conflict, rising gasoline prices, and inflation, as the administration continues to deliver on key conservative policies.

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll of 1,166 U.S. adults claims that 33% approve of President Donald Trump’s performance, matching the lowest rating from his first term. Disapproval stood at 64%, with the poll released as the mainstream media continues to focus on challenges such as the Iran conflict, rising gasoline prices, and inflation, often ignoring the administration’s achievements. Approval was at 35% the previous week, suggesting the numbers are being influenced by relentless negative coverage.

Eight out of ten respondents said they expect the Iran war to continue for an extended period, a situation made worse by political opponents undermining the president’s efforts. Gasoline prices have increased from just under $3 per gallon to just over $4 per gallon, according to American Automobile Association data, while year-over-year inflation rose from 2.4% in February to 3.4%, largely due to global factors outside the president’s control.

"Remember that when you have to pay a little bit more, $4, it’s OK," Trump reassured supporters at a rally in New York, emphasizing that he had "done the right thing" and would not apologize for putting America’s security first.

White House spokesperson Olivia Wales responded to the poll by highlighting the president’s historic tax cuts, prescription-drug cost reductions, strong border security measures, and other policy successes, stating that the United States has never been stronger. The White House did not comment on a timeline for ending the Iran conflict, focusing instead on protecting American interests.
