NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told a German outlet that he is confident a franchise will be based abroad, as the league expands its international schedule.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told a German media outlet that he is confident a future franchise will be located outside the United States. > "At some point, there will be NFL teams outside the USA," Goodell said, adding that he has "no doubt that this will happen one day." His remarks came ahead of a record nine international games scheduled for the current season, including a Week 10 matchup in Munich between the New England Patriots and the Detroit Lions. In May, NFL owners approved a resolution to increase the number of international games to ten per season after 2026, and Goodell has previously said the league aims to reach 16 such games.
