Morgan Stanley Raises Nvidia Price Target Ahead of Q2 Earnings
Morgan Stanley's Joseph Moore reaffirms 'Overweight' rating on Nvidia, increasing price target to $206, citing strong AI demand and upcoming Blackwell chip launch.
Morgan Stanley analyst Joseph Moore has reaffirmed his 'Overweight' rating on Nvidia (NVDA) and raised the price target to $206 from $200, indicating a 3% increase. This adjustment reflects confidence in Nvidia's strong position in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector and the anticipated demand for its upcoming Blackwell chips.
Moore highlighted exceptional AI demand from hyperscale cloud customers and internet firms as key drivers for the revised target. He noted that the planned Blackwell ramp for processors and connectivity/networking/memory in the second half of 2025 is expected to drive the next phase of growth for the company.
Nvidia is scheduled to release its Q2 FY26 earnings results on August 27. Analysts anticipate earnings per share of $1 on revenues of approximately $45.81 billion. Moore's bullish outlook comes ahead of this earnings release, suggesting potential upside for the stock.
In the previous quarter, Nvidia reported revenue of $44.1 billion, a 12% increase quarter-over-quarter and a 69% increase year-over-year. The Data Center segment contributed $39.1 billion, up 10% quarter-over-quarter and 73% year-over-year, driven by strong demand for AI infrastructure.
Moore also mentioned that Nvidia's management has received reassurances from the U.S. government regarding the resumption of business in China, which could further contribute to the company's growth in the latter half of the year.
As of August 19, 2025, Nvidia's stock is trading at $182.01, reflecting a 0.87% increase from the previous close.
