Norwegian Crown Princess's Son Indicted on Multiple Charges Including Rape
Marius Borg Høiby, son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, faces 32 charges including rape, domestic abuse, and other offenses following a prolonged investigation.
Norwegian prosecutors have indicted Marius Borg Høiby, the 28-year-old son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, on 32 charges, including rape, domestic abuse, and other offenses. Oslo state attorney Sturla Henriksbø stated that Høiby could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted. The charges encompass rape, abuse in close relationships, acts of violence, death threats, and traffic violations.
Høiby has been under scrutiny since multiple arrests last year on various allegations. He is currently free pending trial, with the prosecution estimating that proceedings could begin in mid-January and last approximately six weeks.
Høiby, who holds no royal title or official duties, has denied most of the allegations, particularly those concerning sexual abuse and violence. The royal palace has refrained from commenting extensively, stating that the matter is for the courts to decide.
