Seahawks Sign Free-Agent Cornerback Terrion Arnold Amid Legal Proceedings

Summary

Terrion Arnold has reached a contract agreement with Seattle, while the NFL reviews whether to place him on the Commissioner’s Exempt List pending felony charges.

Terrion Arnold, a free-agent cornerback, has signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks, reports indicate. Arnold participated in a workout with the team on Sunday and previously visited the Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints and New York Giants.

The NFL is expected to determine if Arnold will be placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List as he faces four felony counts of armed robbery and four counts of kidnapping. In a recent episode of "Hard Knocks," the Seahawks suggested they anticipate Arnold being cleared to practice and compete in preseason games.

Arnold was waived by the Detroit Lions on June 29 after his arrest in Florida. He was drafted by the Lions in the first round of the 2024 draft and appeared in 24 games, starting 22, recording 91 tackles, one interception and 18 pass breakups over two seasons. His arraignment was conducted via Zoom, and a status hearing is scheduled for October 5 in Tampa, where he must appear in person.
