NBA releases full 2026-27 regular-season schedule with opening night matchups
The NBA announced the complete 2026-27 regular-season calendar, highlighting an opening night game between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers and a series of international and holiday events.
The league unveiled the full 2026-27 regular-season schedule on Thursday, confirming that the New York Knicks will open the season against the Philadelphia 76ers on Oct. 20. The opening night will feature the defending champions collecting their rings before the tip-off.
Key dates include the start of the season on Oct. 20, the Emirates NBA Cup beginning Oct. 30, a Mexico City game on Nov. 7, the NBA’s Christmas Day slate on Dec. 25, a Paris game on Jan. 14, a Manchester game on Jan. 17, the trade deadline on Feb. 11, and the All-Star Weekend from Feb. 19-21.
All 30 teams have been assigned their full slate of games across the Eastern and Western Conferences, with divisions listed for reference. The schedule also incorporates the Emirates NBA Cup’s group stage, quarterfinals, semifinals and championship in December.
"We are excited to bring fans a global schedule that includes games in Mexico City, Paris and Manchester," an NBA spokesperson said.
The release comes as teams prepare for roster decisions under the current collective bargaining agreement, which limits long-term dynastic runs. Analysts note that several franchises, including the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, are expected to remain competitive early in the season.
