Perez Hilton's lawyer addresses mother's request for temporary custody of his children
Attorney Natalie Guerra-Valdes said the priority is the safety and stability of Perez Hilton's three children after the blogger was hospitalized following a suicide attempt, and noted his voluntary consent to the custody filing.
Attorney Natalie Guerra-Valdes told Us Weekly that the primary concern for Perez Hilton and his family is to protect his three children—Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8—and to provide them with a sense of normalcy while they recover. She said the family wants the children to begin a "journey of healing" after recent events.
Court documents show that Hilton "voluntarily consented" to his mother, Teresita Lavandeira, filing for temporary custody while he was hospitalized. The blogger was admitted on August 4 after a live TikTok broadcast in which he appeared to self-harm, prompting emergency responders to enter his home and provide medical assistance.
Family members confirmed that Hilton remains in serious but stable condition and has suffered significant blood loss requiring surgery. They indicated his recovery will be lengthy and that the family needs privacy to care for those affected.
