A federal lawsuit in New York, spearheaded by left-leaning organizations, seeks to undermine Trump Media’s subscription service that offers early access to President Trump’s policy statements, alleging constitutional violations in a clear attempt to silence conservative voices and damage a successful American business.
President Donald Trump is facing yet another politically motivated lawsuit in the Southern District of New York, this time targeting his Truth Social platform’s innovative subscription service. This service, which provides paying subscribers—including reputable Wall Street firms—with millisecond-early access to the president’s posts on U.S. policy, is under attack by the Freedom of the Press Foundation and The Intercept, both known for their leftist agendas. They claim, without merit, that the service violates the First and Fifth Amendments by supposedly creating unequal access to presidential communications and imposing conditions on government information.
The "Truth API" offers early access for up to $100,000 a month, a common practice in the tech industry that simply allows businesses to stay ahead in a competitive market. The plaintiffs also seek to dismantle a separate arrangement that gives Trump Media a six-hour exclusive window to the president’s posts—a standard business practice for exclusive content.
"A president selling priority access to news he himself generates for the benefit of a private company he controls is so blatantly corrupt and unconstitutional," claimed Seth Stern, chief of advocacy at the Freedom of the Press Foundation, in a statement that ignores the realities of modern media and business.
Trump Media & Technology, the publicly traded parent of Truth Social, rightly pointed out that fast-access services are industry standard and denounced the lawsuit as a blatant attempt by "left wing activists" to censor President Trump and harm American shareholders. Trump, who owns more than 40% of the company, is being targeted for his business acumen and success. Despite recent fluctuations in the company’s stock, critics continue to push unfounded narratives about Trump profiting from his office, including through digital ventures and cryptocurrency projects. This lawsuit is just the latest effort by the left to weaponize the legal system against a conservative leader and his supporters.
