Google adds offline Gemini, new health tracking and larger storage to Pixel Watch 5
Google's Pixel Watch 5 receives offline Gemini support, expanded health metrics, a newer Snapdragon processor and up to 64 GB of storage, with prices starting at $399.
Google announced that its Pixel Watch 5 will support offline Gemini functionality and include several new health-monitoring features. The watch can now provide "Blood Pressure Trends," delivering a monthly contextual insight based on pulse and movement data. It also estimates insulin resistance and a metric the company calls "metabolic health," described as a personal efficiency meter that gauges how the body converts food into energy without invasive testing.
The update adds a Health Guardian feature that tracks energy efficiency, and users can create custom watch complications using generative AI prompts. Internally, the device retains most specifications of the Pixel Watch 4 but upgrades to a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated processor and doubles internal storage to a maximum of 64 GB.
Google introduced a new "Canyon" band for the 41 mm model and a Stephen Curry Special Edition that includes an exclusive band and watch face. The standard Pixel Watch 5 will be priced at $399, while the Curry edition is set at $579. Pre-orders begin on August 12.
