Judge overturns temporary order, keeping Tulsa Little League team disqualified

Summary

A Texas team will represent the Southwest Region at the Little League World Series after a judge dissolved a temporary restraining order that had briefly reinstated Tulsa's eligibility.

A Texas West team from Boerne will advance to the Little League World Series after Judge Ryan Luna of the 414th District Court dissolved a temporary restraining order that had temporarily restored the Tulsa National Little League team's eligibility. The court's Tuesday order reinstated the original disqualification of the Tulsa team, which had been barred by Little League officials for using an ineligible player.

The Tulsa parents released a statement saying their 13 boys "did nothing wrong" and criticized the decision, noting that eligibility determinations are made by Little League administrators at various levels. They also expressed disappointment that testimony from other teams, which were not parties to the original restraining order, influenced the proceedings.

The dispute began when Little League disqualified Tulsa on Monday, prompting the Southwest Region championship to be set between the Texas West team and a Louisiana team. After the initial restraining order, a new championship matchup between Texas West and Tulsa appeared possible, but the subsequent court ruling again disqualified Tulsa.

Texas West, making its second appearance at the World Series in three years, is scheduled to play its first game on August 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. CT.

Tulsa officials indicated they will review the organization’s charter to prevent similar issues for other teams in the future.
