Apple employees reportedly refer to upcoming foldable iPhone as “iPhone Ultra,” leaker says
Leaker Mark Gurman said the internal code name for Apple’s forthcoming foldable iPhone is “iPhone Ultra,” though the final branding has not been confirmed.
Apple is expected to unveil a foldable iPhone at its September event. While earlier speculation labeled the device “iPhone Fold,” recent reports suggest the internal name used by many Apple staff is “iPhone Ultra.”
Mark Gurman, a well-known leaker, posted on X that “Everyone calls it the Ultra internally.” He cautioned that internal usage does not guarantee the official product name, noting that only a limited group within Apple’s marketing and product teams may know the final branding decision.
Apple typically keeps details of unreleased products confidential, and employees not directly involved often remain unaware of project specifics until later stages.
