Hunter Biden Provides Update on President's Stage 4 Prostate Cancer
Hunter Biden told BBC Newsnight that his father's prostate cancer has spread to his bones and is causing significant pain, while his mother said the disease will likely be a lifelong condition.
In an interview with BBC Newsnight, Hunter Biden said his father's prostate cancer, diagnosed in May 2025, has progressed to stage 4 and metastasized to the bones, describing it as "very painful" and "debilitating." He added that his father remains determined to continue fighting the disease.
Jill Biden previously confirmed the bone metastasis during a Today show interview on June 1, noting that while prostate cancer can be curable in early stages, the spread to bone changes the prognosis. She also said the family expects the illness to be a lifelong condition.
The Biden family disclosed that symptoms were not identified while the former president was in office, despite receiving medical care at the White House. Jill Biden described the diagnosis as a "shocking" moment for the family and discussed the challenges of caregiving, including concerns about nutrition, exercise, and medication adherence.
