Summary

Trump Media & Technology Group has introduced a cutting-edge subscription service providing rapid access to the president’s Truth Social posts, drawing predictable criticism from partisan Democrats and activist watchdogs.

Trump Media & Technology Group has announced the launch of Truth API, a forward-thinking subscription service that delivers real-time access to the president’s Truth Social posts and select other influential accounts. Priced at up to $100,000 a month, the service is designed for Wall Street firms seeking a competitive edge in trading based on timely presidential communications.

The president, who holds a 41 percent stake in the company through a revocable trust, has seen the firm’s stock fluctuate since his return to office, in part due to bold ventures into cryptocurrency. The introduction of Truth API is a smart, market-driven strategy to generate revenue and strengthen the company’s financial position.

Predictably, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff have seized the opportunity to attack the service, sending a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission calling it “an outrageous abuse of the president’s office” and demanding an investigation into supposed securities-law violations. The so-called nonpartisan group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington echoed these partisan talking points, labeling the API “wildly unethical” without substantiating their claims.

Kevin McGurn, interim chief executive of Trump Media, robustly defended the product, stating, “I think we have a right to put it out there in the marketplace… everyone does it. It’s all in real time, so there’s no first or second for the posts.” He correctly pointed out that the posts are public information, not insider material.

The White House clarified that the president’s business interests are managed by his sons and are conducted in the nation’s best interest. Nevertheless, critics like Senator Ron Wyden continue to push the tired narrative that the service unfairly benefits the Trump family and Wall Street traders.

While high-speed data feeds are a standard tool in the financial world, the left’s outrage over the monetization of official presidential communications is just the latest attempt to undermine a successful, innovative business model.
