Jaguars training camp highlights key players and positional battles
After two weeks of practice, the Jacksonville Jaguars have identified emerging contributors at wide receiver, running back, and the offensive line, while assessing depth on defense and the dual-role of Travis Hunter.
Jacksonville, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars concluded the first two weeks of training camp with nine practices, offering a clearer picture of the roster ahead of the 2026 season. Wide receiver Parker Washington has stood out in the passing group that includes Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, Travis Hunter and tight end Brenton Strange, consistently creating separation and making plays across the field. The team has not yet finalized his contract, but coaches indicated his performance makes him a likely primary target in multiple receiver formations.
Running backs Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez Jr. and LeQuint Allen have all received significant repetitions, suggesting a shared workload rather than a single featured back. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence praised Allen’s route-running and catching ability, noting his effectiveness on passing downs.
Cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter continues to practice both positions in every camp session, indicating the Jaguars intend to utilize him on both sides of the ball once the season begins.
The defensive front has shown promise, with veteran B.J. Green, rookie Zach Durfee, Danny Striggow and new defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro providing consistent pass-rush pressure during camp drills.
On the offensive line, left tackle duties have largely shifted to rookie Anton Harrison, who has taken the majority of reps at the position after initially being a right tackle. The change follows an injury to Walker Little and suggests Harrison may start at left tackle in the opening game.
