TikTok influencer Sydney Towle moves to hospice care amid stage 4 cancer
Sydney Towle, a 26-year-old TikTok creator who has shared her battle with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma, entered hospice care, according to a post by her brother.
Sydney Towle, a 26-year-old TikTok influencer with more than one million followers, was placed in hospice care as she continues to fight stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma, a rare bile-duct cancer. The update was posted on TikTok by her brother, Austin Towle, on Aug. 4 and included a photo of Towle surrounded by family and friends.
Towle was first diagnosed at age 23 and has documented surgeries, chemotherapy, hospital stays and participation in a clinical trial of tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) immunotherapy. Her last public update, posted July 23, noted that a favorite band had dedicated a song to her at a concert.
In a June 28 video, Towle explained her mindset, saying she tries to focus on the best-case scenario rather than dwell on uncertainty. She added that “miracles happen every day.”
The brother’s post thanked supporters for their “love and support,” and followers responded with messages of encouragement.
"Sydney has been moved to hospice and is surrounded by her friends and family," the TikTok caption read.
"People always ask why I'm so positive, and it's like, why would I not envision the best-case scenario, the best way of things working out?"
