Vincent Pastore, 80, famed for playing Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on "The Sopranos," was found dead at his New York home, prompting tributes from colleagues and representatives.

Vincent Pastore, an actor best known for his 30-episode portrayal of Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on the HBO series "The Sopranos," died at age 80. He was discovered at his residence on City Island, New York, after not being heard from for several days.

Bob McGowan, Pastore’s manager since his time on the series, said he learned of the death from fellow cast member Vincent Curatola. McGowan added that he had been trying to contact Pastore about a potential job.

"He was the most loyal client, and he always gave to charity, and he was the kind of guy who would help anybody, which is rare in my business," McGowan said.

Attorney Robert Attermann, who represented Pastore for more than three decades, described the actor as generous and kind-hearted.

"Vinny was one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever known. He treated everyone with warmth and respect, never turning down a fan who wanted a photograph or an autograph," Attermann said.

"Vinny was a kind-hearted brother who cared deeply about his family and friends. I will miss him always," Imperioli wrote.
