A shooting at an In-N-Out location in Twin Falls, Idaho, left at least three people dead and several injured; the suspected gunman was also found dead.

A shooting at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, authorities said. Police reported that the incident occurred before 2:30 p.m. local time, and video from the scene showed people fleeing the parking lot as gunfire rang out. A person carrying a firearm was seen opening the doors of a parked sedan outside the restaurant.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks told a news conference that the suspect was dead, but did not disclose how the death occurred. He said investigators were interviewing a large number of witnesses who were in the area at the time.

"We have a significant number of people who were in some way, shape or form in the area of this restaurant at the time that are being interviewed right now," Hicks said.

City spokesperson Joshua Palmer initially indicated that at least three people had been killed and two more were wounded. Several victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police closed nearby roads and a bridge as part of the response and asked residents to avoid the area. An FBI spokesperson confirmed that federal agents were on the scene assisting with the investigation.
