Savannah Guthrie urges public assistance in search for missing mother

Summary

NBC "Today" anchor Savannah Guthrie renewed a plea for information after her 84-year-old mother vanished from her Tucson home six months ago, noting a reward is offered for tips.

NBC "Today" anchor Savannah Guthrie posted on Instagram on Saturday urging anyone with information to come forward in the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was last seen leaving her Tucson home in the early hours of Feb. 1. The 84-year-old woman left without her phone or essential medication, and investigators have pursued leads, including video evidence and thousands of tips, without locating her.

"There is a determination in us that cannot be quenched – to find out what happened to her, so that we can give her the dignity of a proper goodbye – a celebration of her remarkable life that she so deserves," Guthrie wrote.

The family reiterated that a reward is available for information and referenced a ransom-demand note and a follow-up letter released by authorities, asking the public to identify any familiar handwriting. Guthrie also criticized individuals who follow the case for entertainment or profit, stating such behavior does not help the investigation.

The search remains ongoing, and authorities have not provided new leads as of the latest update.
