Saints sign Chris Olave to four-year, $132 million extension
New Orleans agreed to a four-year contract extension with wide receiver Chris Olave worth up to $132 million, including $90 million guaranteed, keeping him through the 2030 season.
The New Orleans Saints have reached a four-year agreement with wide receiver Chris Olave that could be worth as much as $132 million, with $90 million guaranteed, according to the player’s representatives. The extension, which will begin in 2027 after the team exercised the fifth-year option on his rookie deal, will keep the former first-round pick in New Orleans through the 2030 season.
Olave, selected 11th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, has posted more than 1,000 receiving yards in each of his three healthy seasons. He missed nine games in 2024 after sustaining multiple concussions, bringing his total to four concussions in his first four seasons. Despite the injury concerns, the Saints have made him the league’s sixth-highest-paid wide receiver.
Over his four years with the team, Olave has played under three offensive coordinators and two head coaches, catching passes from a range of quarterbacks, including Andy Dalton, Derek Carr, Jameis Winston, Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener and Tyler Shough. In the final weeks of the 2025 season, Olave and Shough combined for 267 yards and three touchdowns over two games, helping New Orleans win four of its last five contests.
He finished the season with career highs of 1,163 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, becoming the second player in franchise history to record at least 100 receptions in a single season and earning second-team All-Pro honors.
