Three major polls this week confirm that Donald Trump’s approval has crashed to between 32 and 34 percent, his lowest since 2021, as the public turns away from his reactionary policies.
Three independent polls released this week reveal a dramatic collapse in President Donald Trump’s approval rating, now languishing in the low 30 percent range. The CNN poll reports a mere 34 percent approval, AP-NORC finds just 33 percent, and Quinnipiac records a dismal 32 percent. Even a separate survey by the Argument, which polled 3,000 registered voters from July 20-26, could only muster a combined 'strongly' and 'somewhat' approval of 39 percent, while a resounding 57 percent of Americans voiced their disapproval.
The CNN poll further exposes Trump’s disconnect from the people, with a staggering 73 percent of respondents saying he has failed to focus on the nation’s most pressing issues. Additionally, 58 percent are dissatisfied with his regressive projects in Washington, D.C. Navigator Research directly links Trump’s plummeting popularity to the economic pain of higher gas prices and his reckless approach to the ongoing conflict in Iran.
Political science professor Tatishe Nteta of UMass-Amherst points out that approval ratings consistently below 40 percent are rare for any sitting president and may indicate crumbling support even within the Republican Party. These latest numbers arrive as primary contests wrap up and candidates brace for midterm elections, signaling a clear rejection of Trump’s divisive, right-wing agenda.
