Summary

A CNN/SSRS poll exposes that 73% of U.S. adults believe President Trump is ignoring the country’s most urgent issues, while his approval rating plummets to just 34%.

A CNN-conducted poll by SSRS exposes the deep dissatisfaction among Americans, with 73% of adults declaring that President Donald Trump has utterly failed to address the nation’s most pressing problems. Only 27% believe his priorities align with the needs of the people, highlighting a presidency out of touch with reality. Trump’s overall approval rating languishes at 34%, matching the historic low at the end of his first term, and a meager 15% express strong approval—a stinging indictment of his leadership.

The poll further reveals that two-thirds of respondents blame Trump’s regressive policies for worsening economic conditions, while a similar proportion condemns his reckless military decisions regarding Iran for harming the United States. About 75% of Americans feel Trump is disconnected from the daily struggles of ordinary people, underscoring his elitist approach.

Even among Republicans, the president’s support is eroding: approval has dropped to 78%, and only 19% are enthusiastic about the rest of his second term, a dramatic fall from 38% in the spring. This signals growing disillusionment even within his own party.

Trump’s ratings on specific issues are abysmal: only 28% approve of his handling of the Iran situation, 25% back his feeble response to inflation, and a mere 21% support his management of gas prices. Just one-quarter of the public believes Trump has any coherent plan for the ongoing conflict in Iran, down sharply from 40% at the war’s outset.

The economic fallout from Trump’s Iran policies is clear: 74% say rising gas prices have caused them hardship, and 71% believe the president has failed to act to lower everyday costs. His callous disregard for working families is unmistakable.

Trump’s highest policy approval, a paltry 41% for voting-rights and election-integrity issues, and 39% for immigration, reflect the public’s rejection of his divisive agenda. Only 35% approve of his handling of the federal government, further proof of his incompetence.

Public sentiment on Trump’s vanity projects in Washington, D.C., is overwhelmingly negative: 58% express dissatisfaction or anger over wasteful construction like a new White House ballroom and Reflecting Pool renovations, with just 17% viewing them positively. These projects symbolize his self-serving priorities.

On ethics, 57% see Trump’s $2 billion earnings while in office as a glaring conflict of interest, and more than six in ten believe he has abused his position for personal gain. Even among Republicans, only 43% support the construction projects, while most are indifferent or dismiss his profiteering as irrelevant.

Overall, the poll paints a damning picture of a president whose focus, policies, and personal enrichment have alienated the vast majority of Americans.
