Death certificate shows Ben Affleck's mother died of cardiopulmonary arrest at his Los Angeles home
A death certificate obtained by a media outlet indicates that Chris Anne Affleck, mother of actors Ben and Casey Affleck, died of cardiopulmonary arrest on June 2 while visiting her son's residence, with pancreatic adenocarcinoma listed as a contributing condition.
A death certificate released to the press reveals that Chris Anne Affleck, the mother of actors Ben and Casey Affleck, died of cardiopulmonary arrest at the Los Angeles home of her son on June 2 at 10:52 a.m. The document lists pancreatic adenocarcinoma, a disease she had been battling for months, as a contributing condition. The certificate notes that she was "visiting son's residence" at the time of death and that her remains were being transferred to Earth Funeral in Las Vegas. No autopsy was performed, according to the filing.
The Affleck family did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Earlier reports had stated that the 83-year-old former teacher had died peacefully in her sleep after a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in December, which had given her a six-month prognosis. Born in New York City in December 1942, Chris Anne graduated from Harvard University and taught public school for more than three decades before retiring in 2008. She is survived by her two sons, five grandchildren, and former husband Timothy Affleck.
"Her final wish was to see her grandson Atticus graduate from high school, which she did on May 31," her obituary noted.
