A private ceremony for Senator Lindsey Graham will be held in the Capitol rotunda on Tuesday, followed by an invitation-only service at the National Cathedral, both livestreamed for the public.
President Donald Trump, members of Congress and several foreign leaders will attend two ceremonies honoring the late Senator Lindsey Graham on Tuesday. Around 10 a.m. ET, Graham’s casket will be placed in the Capitol rotunda for a brief service that will acknowledge his military background and more than 30 years in the Senate. The ceremony is private but will be streamed online.
After the Capitol service, the casket will be moved to Washington National Cathedral for an invitation-only funeral at 2 p.m. ET, also livestreamed. Trump is expected to deliver remarks, and officials from the Cabinet, the military, and Congress are slated to attend. International guests include Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Senator Darline Graham, who was appointed to fill her brother’s seat, will be present and has indicated she will seek a full term in the upcoming primary. Additional commemorations are planned at the South Carolina State House on Wednesday, featuring a horse-drawn caisson and an F-16 flyover. A public service will be held at First Baptist Church of Columbia, followed by a private burial in Pickens County, South Carolina.
