Enhanced audio from Horn Island emergency call sparks speculation about Nolan Wells' fate

Summary

Audio from a 911 call made during a boat sinking off Horn Island was enhanced and analyzed, leading to public debate over what was heard, while authorities maintain no foul play was suspected in the death of Nolan Wells.

Audio from a 911 call placed as a boat was sinking off Horn Island was enhanced and posted online, prompting listeners to debate the content of background remarks. The enhanced recording, released by a media outlet, appears to contain fragments that some interpret as questions about the victim's condition, a name being spoken, and instructions such as "check his chest" and "wake up." The caller, who was panicking about the sinking vessel and a malfunctioning bilge pump, also provided the boat's GPS coordinates to the Sea Tow dispatcher.

One of the victim's friends, Warren Hudson, said a group member was urging Nolan Wells to board the boat, allegedly shouting, "Nolan, get the f*** on the boat." Wells remained on Horn Island after the boat was towed away, and his body was recovered two days later. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department issued a statement confirming that no foul play was suspected in his death.

"The caller sounds panicked while telling the Sea Tow dispatcher the boat is sinking and its bilge pump isn't working," the report noted.

Online observers continue to examine the audio for additional clues, though officials have not confirmed any of the alleged statements heard in the background.
