Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are scheduled to meet President Donald Trump in Washington while attending Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral.
World leaders gathered in Washington for Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral, and both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are set to hold separate meetings with President Donald Trump during their visits. The meetings, arranged at Trump’s invitation, are expected to focus on the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, as well as broader diplomatic initiatives.
"We have a little difference, but pretty close," Trump told reporters when asked about his alignment with Netanyahu on the Iran situation.
According to a White House official who spoke on condition of anonymity, Trump will discuss the Iran conflict, a trilateral framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon, and an expansion of the Abraham Accords with Netanyahu. Netanyahu indicated on his X post that the agenda includes Israel’s security and efforts to broaden regional peace.
For Zelenskyy, the talks will address new peace proposals aimed at ending the war that began with Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. A White House official confirmed that the president plans to cover these topics during the meeting.
The funeral services for Graham will take place on Tuesday at the Washington National Cathedral, followed by a second service in South Carolina. Trump is slated to deliver remarks at the cathedral ceremony, and the events will be livestreamed for the public.
