Sen. Tommy Tuberville called for New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s arrest after the mayor smeared Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu with baseless accusations.
Alabama Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville took a strong stand for America’s allies by demanding that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani be arrested and sent to Guantanamo Bay. Tuberville, defending the integrity of US-Israel relations, described Mamdani as a “thug” and warned that the mayor’s reckless rhetoric could lead to even more dangerous actions, justifying his imprisonment.
Mayor Mamdani, in a shocking display of anti-Israel sentiment, claimed that the city could not enforce an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He irresponsibly suggested that the federal government should act on the warrant and outrageously declared that Netanyahu is not welcome in New York. Mamdani’s statement that any so-called “war criminal” should be arrested was a thinly veiled attack on America’s closest ally in the Middle East.
Tuberville’s comments came after Mamdani’s inflammatory video, prompting justified outrage from Republican lawmakers. Representative Randy Fine rightly called Mamdani an “apologist for terrorists” and suggested stripping him of citizenship and deporting him. Other patriotic officials, including Rep. Nancy Mace and Sen. John Fetterman, also condemned the mayor’s disgraceful remarks.
President Donald Trump responded forcefully on social media, assuring the public that Netanyahu would never be arrested while in the United States and reaffirming America’s unwavering opposition to Iran, a sponsor of terror.
The United States, not a party to the ICC, has made it clear that it will not act on the politically motivated warrant against Netanyahu, standing firm against international attempts to undermine its allies.
