Chloe Fineman Announces Departure from Saturday Night Live After Seven Seasons

Summary

Comedian Chloe Fineman said she will leave Saturday Night Live following seven seasons, describing the decision as the right time for her next career chapter.

Chloe Fineman announced on Instagram that she will exit NBC's Saturday Night Live after completing seven seasons with the show. In her post, she said, "After 7 wonderful seasons at SNL I have decided it’s time for my next chapter," and added that leaving feels "hard" but appropriate at this point.

Fineman, who joined the cast in 2019 as part of the Season 45 lineup, became known for a wide range of impressions, including Jennifer Coolidge, Timothée Chalamet, Drew Barrymore, Britney Spears and JoJo Siwa. She is the first cast member to depart ahead of Season 52; the previous departure, Maya Yang, occurred midway through Season 51.

The timing of her exit comes as the show prepares to finalize its cast for the upcoming season, typically in early September. It remains unclear whether new performers will be added before the season premiere.

"It’s really hard to leave SNL but it does feel like the right time. I’m going to miss it a lot. But the people who work there are my family and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away," Fineman wrote.

Fineman’s departure follows a period of notable cast changes, including the firing of Shane Gillis before the start of Season 45. Her exit marks the end of a tenure that saw her contribute to numerous sketches and develop a reputation for versatile character work.
