Curry and Green Pitch Warriors as Destination for LeBron James in Free Agency

Summary

Stephen Curry and Draymond Green said they would invite LeBron James to join the Golden State Warriors, while several teams remain interested as James approaches free agency.

Stephen Curry told Good Morning America that he would highlight the Warriors' winning culture, climate and lifestyle to persuade LeBron James to finish his career in Golden State. > "The Bay, we know how to win, it's beautiful weather, great golf, and I know he's into that," Curry said. He added that the team's experience and competitive history could appeal to James.

Draymond Green also said on his podcast that he had discussed the idea with James during a recent golf trip and offered his own pitch, though he said it was unclear whether it would affect James' decision.

ESPN reporter Shams Charania noted that the Warriors are among five clubs still pursuing James, along with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers. Charania added that the Warriors' chances could improve if they acquire former Lakers teammate Anthony Davis, a move the team has not yet secured.

The Warriors are also working on other roster moves, including re-signing Al Horford and Kristaps Porziņģis and adding former Lakers associate head coach Frank Vogel, in hopes of making the Bay Area an attractive option for James.
