Prince Harry reportedly misses life in the United Kingdom amid California residency
Sources say Prince Harry continues to feel nostalgic for his former royal role and social circle in Britain, even as he and Meghan Markle maintain a base in California and recently met with King Charles III.
Prince Harry is said to retain a strong attachment to the United Kingdom, according to sources cited by Dan Wakeford, founder of the Celebrity Intelligence newsletter. Wakeford told Fox News Digital that the duke "particularly doesn't love the life he has in America" and misses his family, friends and former existence in the U.K.
Archewell, the organization that manages the Sussexes' affairs, described the claim as "unfounded speculation" and declined to comment further.
The royal family recently hosted a meeting at Highgrove House on July 10, where Harry, Meghan, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, were received by King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The gathering was the first such occasion since the couple stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said the meeting was positive but noted that Harry lacks a formal role, adding that he likely misses aspects of life in Britain, including his charitable work and personal connections.
British royal expert Hilary Fordwich observed that Harry appeared content while participating in wheelchair rugby with Invictus Games athletes, describing his demeanor as "grinning ear to ear" during the event.
Wakeford also commented on the Sussexes' financial ventures, stating that the reported $100 million Netflix deal was closer to $60 million and the Spotify agreement around $5 million, and that their business model remains costly.
Harry has previously expressed a desire for reconciliation with his family, telling the BBC in 2025 that he would "love reconciliation" and acknowledging that he "misses parts of the U.K."
Analysts note that the Sussexes continue to balance their public engagements, charitable work, and media projects while navigating their relationship with the royal household.
