Rep. Ralph Norman has indicated strong interest in the Senate seat left by Lindsey Graham, aiming to champion President Trump’s America First agenda and secure the nation’s borders, while navigating the necessary election procedures.
Rep. Ralph Norman, a steadfast Republican congressman from South Carolina, told FOX Business' "Mornings with Maria" on Wednesday that he is seriously considering running for the Senate seat opened by the passing of Sen. Lindsey Graham. Norman has not yet filed the necessary paperwork for the special election, with candidate registration opening July 21 and a Republican primary set for August 11. His interest is rooted in a commitment to advancing President Trump’s America First agenda, citing the crucial SAVE Act and the urgent need for secure elections and strong borders to protect American sovereignty. Norman also voiced support for eliminating the Senate filibuster, which has too often been used by Democrats to obstruct vital conservative legislation.
Norman praised the appointment of Sen. Darline Graham, Lindsey Graham’s sister, as a fitting interim choice who will serve the remainder of the term until January 3, 2027. The winner of the November general election will then begin a full six-year term, ensuring continued conservative leadership for South Carolina.
The Republican field is shaping up with strong contenders such as businessman Mark Lynch, Rep. Russell Fry—who has been in discussions with White House officials—former governor Mark Sanford, and Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette. Politico has also reported that Rep. Nancy Mace, another proven conservative, is weighing a run.
Should Norman enter the race, he would join a robust group of patriots ready to defend traditional values and fight for the future of South Carolina in the upcoming special election.
