LeBron James, 41, is nearing a decision on his next NBA destination, and Philadelphia 76ers players have been actively reaching out to him. According to ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin, Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and Jaylen Brown have each communicated with James, with Maxey leading the effort. Maxey and James share representation through Klutch Sports, headed by Rich Paul, which facilitates their contact. Brown reportedly delivered a light-hearted pitch during a livestream, while Embiid has kept a lower public profile.
ESPN’s Shams Charania has placed Philadelphia among the top three teams courting James, alongside the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat, with other clubs such as the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors also in the mix. James is expected to announce his choice within the next few days.
