Leak suggests Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may eliminate inner display crease
A video posted on Weibo appears to show a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra prototype with an internal screen that lacks the visible crease typical of earlier foldable models.
A video shared by the Momentary Digital account on the Chinese platform Weibo shows an early unit of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with its internal display opened. Observers note that the screen does not display the pronounced crease that has been a hallmark of previous foldable phones, although small bumps from the hinge are visible at certain angles.
The footage includes multiple folding actions, countering the possibility that the device had never been folded. While the video does not feature a standard Galaxy Z Fold 8, analysts suggest the two models may share similar glass technology, making the Ultra the only variant with concrete visual evidence of a crease-free panel.
"If you can live with it, it might be worth picking up as the price dips," a product description for the earlier Galaxy Z Fold 7 noted, highlighting the crease as a primary criticism of that model.
The leak follows earlier rumors that Samsung aims to address the inner-display crease in its upcoming foldable lineup, marking a potential design milestone for the company.
