New Freedom Fuel Network stations sell gasoline at prices below regional average

Summary

A newly launched chain of gas stations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey is offering fuel at $3.47 per gallon, significantly under the local average, while details about its ownership and financing remain undisclosed.

A chain called Freedom Fuel Network opened a series of gasoline stations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey just before the July 4 holiday weekend, pricing fuel at $3.47 per gallon, according to on-site signage. The price is well below the national average of $3.88 and the Pennsylvania average of just under $4.00 reported by AAA.

The White House posted on X that the first station in Philadelphia is “lowering the price at the pump,” and a spokesperson said the retailer is “doing a good thing for drivers … by lowering their gas prices.”

President Donald Trump also posted on Truth Social that oil and gasoline prices are falling and promised a return to “record low prices.”

Industry analysts note that typical gas-station margins are about 13 cents per gallon, making the 40-50 cent discount offered by the new chain unusual. Public records show Freedom Fuel Network LLC was incorporated in Delaware in late June, and a federal trademark for the name was filed on July 1. The company’s website lists 25 locations but provides no “about us” information, and it did not respond to a request for comment.

A White House official emphasized that the administration is not involved in the company and has provided no funding, stating, “There is no other entity or person subsidizing the lower gasoline costs… This retailer is taking the lead, others should follow.”
