Actor Justin Baldoni addressed the settlement of his lawsuit with co-star Blake Lively in a five-minute Instagram video recorded with his wife, Emily. The couple said the year-and-a-half legal battle, which involved claims of breach of contract, retaliation and related allegations, concluded on May 4 with an agreement that avoided a trial. Baldoni noted that the dispute forced them to rely on friends, family and faith, adding that gratitude helped them cope.
Emily Baldoni said the experience caused significant trauma for their family and expressed surprise that the conflict was framed as a "fight for women." She indicated that they intend to continue sharing their perspective when the time is right, while focusing now on healing and spending time with their children.
Baldoni thanked supporters who spoke on their behalf during the litigation, saying their assistance was deeply appreciated. The settlement leaves Lively’s claim for more than $8 million in legal fees pending, with a deadline of July 13 for Baldoni to respond.
