U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick posted an image on the social-media platform X on Sunday that depicted a card associated with the administration’s fast-track permanent residency program for wealthy foreign nationals. The post was captioned simply with the words “Trump Card.”
The illustration prompted a variety of responses online. Some users compared the card’s appearance to a basic laminated library card, while others referenced the program’s high fees. A number of commenters also revived criticism of both Lutnick and former President Donald Trump regarding their past associations with the late Jeffrey Epstein.
Additional speculation linked the term “Trump Card” to a recent incident in which the president allegedly intervened with FIFA concerning a red-card suspension for U.S. soccer forward Folarin Balogun.
