Lewis Hamilton secured pole for the Formula 1 sprint race at Silverstone by 0.011 seconds over Kimi Antonelli, marking his first sprint pole since the 2023 Chinese Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton claimed pole position for the British Grand Prix sprint at Silverstone, beating Italian driver Kimi Antonelli by 0.011 seconds in a single-lap shoot-out on soft tyres. Hamilton recorded a lap time of 1:28.376, three tenths faster than Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who qualified fourth behind Charles Leclerc.

"We managed to find a little extra on the final lap," Hamilton said after the session.

Mercedes teammate George Russell qualified fifth after a slower third sector in SQ3. McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took sixth and seventh, respectively, as the team continued to lag behind Mercedes and Ferrari in aerodynamic efficiency.

Red Bull's Isack Hadjar placed ninth, while the Racing Bulls duo Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad completed the top ten. Alpine showed modest improvement, with Pierre Gasly qualifying 11th, and Audi drivers Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hülkenberg rounding out the top 13.

Williams secured the final spot on the grid as Carlos Sainz edged Oliver Bearman by 0.010 seconds for 16th place. Haas, Cadillac and Aston Martin drivers filled the back of the field, with Esteban Ocon 19th overall.

The sprint qualifying results set a competitive grid ahead of Saturday's race, with Hamilton leading a field that includes multiple manufacturers and a mix of experienced and rookie drivers.
