City Permit Reveals Schedule for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Wedding at Madison Square Garden
A New York City permit shows the celebrity wedding will start at 5 p.m. Friday at Madison Square Garden and may run until 4 a.m. Saturday, with a pre-wedding gathering the night before.
A New York City permitting office approved a special-event permit for Madison Square Garden that outlines a wedding ceremony for pop star Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The main ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and could continue until 4 a.m. the following morning, according to the document obtained by the Associated Press.
The permit also details a pre-wedding celebration, described as an intimate rehearsal dinner, with 100 guests arriving at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Overnight street closures near the arena are planned while crews set up entrance and drive-through tents.
City officials confirmed they are preparing for a large-scale event that will require additional police presence over the busy weekend, though they declined to discuss specifics. A spokesperson for Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the application was approved Wednesday night.
Local business owners expressed concern about the impact of street closures. > "This is, in my opinion, ridiculous," said Michael O’Brien, co-owner of O’Brien’s Bar and Grill across from the venue, adding that he feared loss of business and questioned why private events receive public resources.
Representatives for Swift have not responded to inquiries, and the couple has not publicly confirmed any details about the ceremony.
