Trump's Florida resorts generate record revenue as his personal wealth climbs

Summary

Federal disclosures show Trump earned $77.5 million from Mar-a-Lago and $122 million from Trump National Doral in 2025, while crypto and licensing deals added over $1.4 billion to his income.

Federal ethics filings released Tuesday indicate that President Donald Trump’s two flagship Florida resorts generated substantially higher revenues in 2025 than in prior years. Mar-a-Lago produced about $77.5 million, more than 50 percent above the previous year and roughly triple the 2020 figure, while Trump National Doral reported income of roughly $122 million, up from $44 million in 2020.

The surge follows a rise in membership initiation fees at Mar-a-Lago, which were increased to $1 million in 2024, and higher usage fees at other Trump-branded clubs. The properties have also become frequent venues for Republican fundraising events and corporate gatherings, with several federal candidates and committees paying for use of the facilities since the president’s return to office.

"People are going to Mar-a-Lago because they want proximity to the president," said Robert Weissman, co-president of the consumer-rights group Public Citizen.

"Neither the President nor his family has ever engaged — or will ever engage — in conflicts of interest," White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a statement.

In addition to resort earnings, Trump’s disclosed income includes more than $1.4 billion from cryptocurrency ventures such as the $TRUMP memecoin and World Liberty Financial, as well as nearly $60 million from licensing agreements that allow foreign developers to use the Trump brand.

Trump attributed his overall financial gains to a rising stock market, telling reporters, "You know why I’m profiting? Because the stock market’s going up. Everybody’s profiting," and added that he does not discuss financial matters with the managers of his businesses.

The disclosures highlight the growing overlap between the president’s private enterprises and his political activities, as the resorts host high-ticket fundraising dinners, foreign dignitary visits, and events for companies seeking federal contracts.
