Amanda Batula departs 'Summer House' before Season 11 amid romance controversy

Summary

Bravo announced that reality star Amanda Batula will not return for the eleventh season of 'Summer House' following a widely criticized relationship with fellow cast member West Wilson.

Amanda Batula will not appear in the upcoming eleventh season of Bravo's reality series "Summer House," the network confirmed after the cast member's relationship with fellow participant West Wilson sparked a backlash among viewers. The couple publicly confirmed their romance on March 31 via Instagram, and their interactions at the season-10 reunion, which aired beginning May 26, were described as defensive and confrontational.

Bravo responded to the unresolved tension by adding a supplemental episode titled "Summer House: The Aftermath" to seek further clarification from the pair. > "When you watch the reunion — as incredible as it is, and as great television as it is — you walk away feeling a little unsatisfied because of the way that West and Amanda handle themselves," network spokesperson Andy Samton said. "They didn’t explain themselves in a satisfying way."

Despite the controversy, most of the season-10 cast, including Kyle Cooke, Lindsay Hubbard, Carl Radke and others, are slated to return when production resumes in the Hamptons in July. The show is also expected to introduce new members, as it has done in previous seasons. Discussions about the future of the spinoff "In the City," which features several veteran cast members, remain open, and Samton noted that Batula's participation would depend on her relationships with the remaining cast.

The network has not yet announced renewal plans for "In the City," but production could potentially begin after "Summer House" wraps later in the year.
